Parenting Therapy and COPA: Co-Parenting Training and Therapy

Couples and Co-Parenting (COPA) Therapy

Marriage is a uniquely human experience. Coupling and producing offspring is not. Over the centuries, marriage has changed from planned family arrangements to torrid spontaneous love affairs. Love is a potent and wonderful emotion but without rationality it can be mercurial and unreliable. In the 1400s Shakespeare himself wrote: “O, swear not by the moon, th’ inconstant moon, That monthly changes in her circle orb, Lest that thy love prove likewise variable.” ― Romeo and Juliette. Now, in the 21st century, the divorce rate is roughly 50%. Relationships built on promises of love may have overlooked differences in values, beliefs, habits and parenting, etc. Therapy provides the opportunity to revisit old promises and repair wounds to restore healthy functioning.
